Varjosta kaikki alkoi ja siinäpä olikin ystävistä parhain. Nimi oli enne ja Varjolla oli tapana kävellä aivan kannoilla. Varjolla oli sydämet sulattava katse, jonka avulla se onnistui kerjäämään mm. sushia ventovierailta. Varjo kävi hurmaamassa ihmisiä eri paikoissa myös Kennelliiton kaverikoiratoiminnan kautta. Varjolla oli monelle irlanninsusikoiralle tyypillinen tapa makoilla etutassut ristissä, mikä sopi kyllä hyvin lauman matriarkalle. Varjo oli innokas juoksemaan ja se sai maastokisoista pari sertiäkin. Käyttövalioituminen jäi kiinni enemmän omistajan laiskuudesta kuin koirasta. Varjo sai pentuja ja se oli hyvä äiti. Varjo opetti myös Laavan ja Cersein hienosti talon tavoille ja ehti onneksi käydä kuiskimassa parhaat neuvot Sintti-pennunkin korvaan.

Everything started with Varjo and she truly was the best of friends. The name was an omen and Varjo (shadow) used to walk right on my heels. Varjo had a heart-melting look that helped her to beg for sushi from strangers, among other things. Varjo also charmed people in various places through the Kennel Club's care dog activities. Varjo had the typical habit of many Irish wolfhounds of lying down with his front paws crossed, which suited her role as the matriarch of the pack. Varjo was keen to run and she won a couple of lure coursing and track racing trophies. She had every chance to be a working trial champion but the owner was a bit too lazy for that. Varjo had puppies and she was a good mother. Varjo also did a great job teaching Laava and Cersei the house rules. Luckily she had enough time to tell the best advice for Sintti puppy, too.
